New 300x to the family! Fuel pickup extender still needed?

Hey all, I just bought a 2011 300x and sold my 2008 Ultra LX. The 2008 Ultra needed a fuel line extender to use the actual 20 gallons in the tank so I added it immediately back in 2008. Do the 300x (or new versions) need this still? Any suggestions on my break-in besides the usual (no full throttle for the first 24 seconds)? Any info is appreciated!

Thank you for the info! Anyone know why they do that in the first place? It's not like the extra 5 gal can ever be used anyway since the PU tube is so short. So why not do it right after all these years? Why offer a 20gal tank if they ship them to inly use 15? Weird. But thanks again for the info.

my 250 uses up 78 lts all the time, has for the last 3.5 years, DONT need a extender

The joy of sitting the pickup lower in the tank is now it picks up all the water drops that have collected in the Vee section of the tank, and it help to cool the injectors

OEM dont do SILLY things for no reason..........

    Hi

Yes the same fuel extender will work in the 300x. Yes it does give you access to extra fuel and one of the negatives is if you have water in the tank or rubbish in the bottom of the tank it will suck that up too. So maintain your fuel quality. Took me just under 2 hours to fit as I am not mechanically minded.

Well I do know that they do not think of everything either, nor do they always do the right thing for the right reasons. And 5 gallons of unused fuel seems a bit excessive. But again, ty all for responding I love input of all types as it allows me to either change my thoughts or confirm them.
