Finally breaking in the motor after the engine work

well yesterday i was able to finally get my ski back on the water . engine is complete! although it was raining pretty good here yesterday i was able to get 3 tanks of gas through it and with a little beating i got [email protected] 7188 that was with a full fuel tank and full oil. the difference between the stock reed set up and VF3's with the spacer + 3* keyway REALLY wake this thing up at 4500rpm. currently have a skegless jims plate and extended tabs installed. going to try the shredmaster out wed after work. i would love to find a set of stock aluminium tabs if anyone has a set for sale.... thank you Kevin "WATER WOODY" @ West Coast Porting for the porting work. it is truly top notch !!!!!!!!!!!!! and your help over the phone and pm's was very much appreciated. i am looking forward to more speed after getting a better tach and doing some fine tuning.

ok so here is what adds to my list of confusion.... 7 tanks of fuel through the motor, i am running 72.8 in just about all my wide open bursts which have mostly all been with a full tank of fuel and oil. this morning i go out on near glass with 2 bars of fuel and can't break 69mph ??? i thought i would be faster than my previous max...currently using jims modded skegless plate and all items in my signature. air temp is 55* water not even close to swimming temp yet ! any suggestions????

Yeah, get a compression test right away. What was your rpm at 69mph?

Sounds like your dragging something. Is your rideplate loose- taking on water in the hull- check your pump shoe-check intake grate.

WTF !!! ride plate was loose................. but still no reason for compression to be going down instead of up???
