    300x oil question

    Greetings to all!
I just brought home my new 300x last weekend and currently grinding through the break in process. I'm planning on changing the oil at 5hrs or so but I'm wondering if anyone out there runs Amsoil 10-40 Marine because I hear its the best. That's the oil I would like to run permanently in this machine, however I'm a little worried because I noticed that Amsoil doesn't state the JASO-MA spec anywhere. Is this still okay to run in our 300x's?

To me JASO-MA is pointless since our SC is belt driven. So basically I don't see where is the need for the JASO-MA.
I use Motul 300V 10W40 for now and have 2 hours on it. No problem at all.

Nah, Olo has been running on synthetic motul oil for 2 hours now but he changed his oil at 5 hours after his break in process. DINO oil is the best to break-in for sure

Any recommendations for a pump to get the oil out?

Engine is more likely to fail due to LACK OF OIL not type of oil.

MA rating stands for "Motorcycle Approved" for friction plates in the clutch, not required for Kawi.

It's an old wifes tail that says not to run synthetic during break in. Every high performance sports car that I know of now comes straight from the factory with 100% synthetic oil. If it would cause improper ring seating they wouldn't be using synthetic. Imagine the warranty claims if the engines didn't break in properly and turned into oil smokers. I would dump the factory Kawi oil after the first days use and put in a name brand synthetic.

yea, you know, this has always confused me. Everyone says no synthetic during break in but corvettes come with mobil 1 synthetic.

Synthetic oil come with all brand new car from factory nowadays.
Most people who are using Mineral for breaking are people who do a rebuild or uprated engine.
I did on mine when going from 2.0l to 2.3l for peace of mind.

But if breaking is done properly, either mineral or synthetic will be fine.
(heck even supercar come with Synthetic oil from factory )
