    TURBO parts and serial

    Bonjour à tous ,

    Après beaucoup de recherche, voilà les détails et toutes les references nécessaire a la réparation du turbo d'origine . Pour le MSX 110 c'est tres bien mais pour le MSX 150 ,
    il vaut mieux un turbo qui tourne moins vite avec une turbine d'admission plus grosse .

    Le turbo d'origine est 5303-970-0077 ou 5303-988-0077 ,ce sont les mêmes .

    Regardez là :

    Merci et bonne journée .

    Hello everyone,

    After much research, here are the details and all details required for the repair of the original turbo. For the MSX 110 is very good but for the MSX 150,
    it is better a turbo running slower with a bigger turbine inlet.

    The original turbo is 5303-970-0077 or 5303-988-0077, they are the same.

    Melett provides an exact match for the original CHRA turbocharger, which you say is just fine for the MSX 110, but is rather undersized for the MSX 150 - do I have this correct?

    Do you know if Melett offers a larger turbo that would roughly match the upgraded turbo kit offered by Desperado (PrecisionSports)?

    The problem with the oem turbo or any equivalent replacement part is the fact the compressor wheel is undersized for 2 bar turbo pressure. The compressor is ok for the MSX110, but certainly undersized for the MSX150. An undersized compressor wheel will require faster turbo speed to generate the target boost pressure and will therefore induce rapid shaft, seal and bearing wear & failure.

    The turbo's offered by Precision Sports are not to be confused with oem replacement units. They are hand assembled, using hi-performance bearings and seals, have a much larger compressor housing and compressor and are computer balanced using a VSR rig to 125k rpm...... They are basically true race units that lower air charge temperature from lower turbine speed and will outlast the engine.

    That would be this turbocharger;

    Which goes along with this ECU reflash;
