2005 RXP starting issue
Hey guys, I am fairly new to the hulk. I recently purchased a 2005 RXP. When I took it out this weekend, I had an issue starting. When I hit the start button, it would either do nothing except for what sounds like a relay kicking on, or it would try to crank very slowly and not start. Eventually it started.....
I have since replaced the battery which didnt help. I am wondering if it could be a relay problem or if anybody has seen this problem before....Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I hear a click every time I hit the start button but it doesn't crank until you hit the button 10-15 times. Is there a write up anywhere on here, or a how to or part number on how to replace this relay? And if it is the relay, why do you still hear it clicking?

I will let you know after I change it but I am pretty confident its that. I went on ebay and just typed in rxp starter relay and it came right up, just make sure it matches the one that you have. I assume that you hear it clicking because there is still power going to it, but its not letting the correct amount of amps get to the starter to turn the engine over. I am by no means a jet ski mechanic, this is just what I have figured. If I change this out and it is not it, unless I am wrong the only other thing would be the starter. Im sure there are guys on here that can give you a much better answer than me, this is just what I am guessing.

Had the same issue with my RXP last year. Seemed like a dead battery, but it was actually the solenoid. Easy fix.

Ya, I replaced mine today and it fired right up on the first push of the start button every time. $41 dollars from my local dealer, and it is located right in the battery compartment. 2 nuts holding the cables to the posts, and 2 nuts holding it down to the bracket, and it's out, all of them are 10mm.
