    1997 seadoo xp trouble

    Hey guys i just picked up a pair of 97 xp's got a awsome deal so ihad to get them. Stuck them in the water yestarday and at first it was weird gave them gas and the reved like they were going somewhere but nothing was happening so im guessing its wear rings then that problem seemed to go away but i couldnt give it wot it would sputter and fall on its face that also seemed to sorta go away had to find a certin spot on the throttle and it would run ok every once and awhile it would run great but still at wot nothing is that carb issue?

    well i know i need to do some more work on the fuel system but when i pulled the fuel filter under the hood it was just jammed full of crap cleaned it all out and of course i had to see how it ran so i went down to the dock which is just a couple blocks from my house and the ski ran like a raped ape only had a couple hick ups at wot but man it screams i cant believe i picked them both up for 1800

    If your running like that after cleaning the water strainer you definitely need to clean the fuel system cause you will be running like a strapped ass ape after doing a full cleaning!

    hey guys another quick question had the xp out again and still running strong the trim is stuck in the middle as most are that ive seen and the ski is running about 52 mph i am 6'4 and 280 does that seem like about the right area?

    eh....maybe a little slow. I would think 55+ish with a man of your stature. clean the carbs, check the prop and wear ring and you may be back in business

    where are you getting the 52 mph from? the "dreamometer" on the ski?

    yes it was the dream o meter but my buddy was on a 03 xpdi same number on his he actually said 53
