If inside of hull is smoothly molded, then it is SMC. Use epoxy resin for SMC, not polyester.

If you see fiberglass matting in resin on the hull interior, it is fiberglass.

Keith is right. Per the factory manual ('92 to '98 models) the only skis that were fiberglass were the '94 & '95 SLT750 and the '96 SLT700. So, your SL700 should be SMC.

US Composites has great prices on Epoxy resin. They also have a really cool faring material that you add to the resin for feathering out your work. The resin itself is a little thinner than honey. The faring material makes the mixture the consistency of mayonaise and feathers out very nice. I'd suggest you just give them a call, tell them you're repairing an SMC hull and describe the size and location of the hole. With that info they'll tell exactly which products you need to fix the problem.

    +1 For Epoxy Resin

West System is also a good choice and resonably priced Epoxy Resin system. Very Strong and designed for SMC also. Repaired a hole/crack in a friends 780 hull and he's never had any problems. Lots of different options depending on the repair job in order. Good Working time, Fast or Slow Hardeners. Heard good things about US Composites also, just figured i'd throw out another good option/alternative.

Don't look at the bottom of the hull to tell what the material is, look at the interior.
