260x gas question (dumb question perhaps?)
We have an '09 260x and we realize it's supposed to use 90+ octane gas. My dumb question is, do you think 89 octane is going to make a huge difference in performance? Our marina stocks 89 octane only and it's a huge hassle to carry multiple cans of gas down to the dock. If we use 89, would you recommend an octane boost? Or should we just stick to the 93 octane and continue to bust our humps with heavy gas cans..

Stick with 93....don't risk the possible damage, and lack of warranty coverage, to save a few pennies.

Dont risk detonation on these things. They are finiky enough as it is.
Its not going to make a huge difference in performance but the possibility of detonation is greater with lower octane.
And I dont know how well the octane boosts are proven, but I would not trust them with my 6 thousand dollar engine.
