It is alive !!!
I just wanted to say thanks to to Tim judge, Bill Bartleet and all the guys here on the green hulk for helping me through the top end rebuild on my ski. I didn't think I could do this job at first but with all the responses I got here it was easy. It is all put back together and pressure tested. It cranked for a couple of seconds and a few pumps on the primer and it roared to life. Here is what has been done. Carbs rejetted by Bill, Cylinders ported by Tim Judge. R&D reed stuffers. Riva return flow restricter. Riva flame arrestors. Pro-x pistons and rings. Head milled by Riva. Riva primer with chokes removed. Premix with amsoil.
But I still have another question. When running on the hose should there always be water coming out of the pisser? Water was coming out of the jet and the tube to the right of the jet but none coming out of the exhaust or the pisser. I only had it running for about 5 minutes with 1/4 throttle bursts.

water doesnt normally come out the pisser when on the hose...(too easy for it to run out the back while not in the water)..
exhaust ,you should have hot water flow..check your routings and hose placements as water should not be dumping out the back except for the jet and exhaust ....
you may need to also boost your water flow higher at the hose spicket..( dont blast it ..about 1/8 to 1/4 turn should surfice )
regulate the fow at the exhaust to about 120-140 F. ...
also be sure to do a proper heat and cool break-in ..!!

I'm jealous. I'm waiting for 3 little carb gaskets I didn't know I was missing from my gasket kit. Mine should be running this weekend.

no. You are supposed to break it in on the water.
mix in extra oil for the first tank full of gas.
let the engine warm up for 5 minutes or so (either on the trailer in the water or idle around in the water for 5 minutes.)
Then ride around, but don't go over 3/4 throttle for the first tank full.
don't overly baby the throttle, but don't beat it up either.
the point is to load up the engine and put some heat into the rings so they seat nicely

as cutlass said with heats and cools..
the water box is filled with baffles, it may hold a gallon of water at any time before dumping,so it should be pretty quick...

I started it again today and turned up the water pressure. Water came out of the jet, exhaust and pisser. I guess I didn't have it turned up enough.

I spent the day on the lake. The morning with a careful breakin. Then I pushed it a little in the afternoon. Runs great. Can't wait to ride it again. It idles a little rough but revs up much smoother than before.

Glad you have her up and running! Run it like you stole it and check your plugs!

Pull the trigger and you better be holding on or it will leave without you. Runs sweet.
