    Polaris X-45 1200cc carbs

Ok, I keep getting told that the carbs on my stock Polaris X-45 are not the greatest. After this past weekend, I see I may need to rebuild or replace my carbs. So if I was to replace the carbs, what do I replace them with? Met a guy at Joe Pool Lake this past weekend who told me about the stock carbs again. Don't remember his name but he was on a Polaris 1200 pro and he was promoting this forum. Added note, I like to run fast.

    Welcome to the Hulk

1999 was the very first year for the 1165cc engine from Polaris. I am sure some of the carb experts on here will know which carbs came stock on that engine, and what your upgrade options would be.

Pretty sure the X-45 was the first and only model to come with the Bing carbs. I'd highly recommend scrapping them and picking up a set of Keihins....you can buy a used rack and rebuild it for less money than rebuilding those crap Bings.

glad to see you made it!the stockers are bings.the keihins are the way to go but the jetting is something that might have to be address as the x-45 runs the black log manifold and most of the other 1200's run the red pipe.the red pipe was a better mid and top end setup.personally i've got the pieces to change it over.how about this,my other virage is just about ready to rip.stock 1200 and carbs with reed petals, wedge and ride plate.come back out to the pool and i'll let you ride it.then see if you'll want more than that for you x-45.my virage should run right around 63mph

as a side note 32degh20 removed his bings and installed the keihins and red pipe on his 1200 along with a virage tx ride plate and i think he had the 202 prop as well, not sure on the wedge.shoot him a pm and ask what speed his x-45 ran
