    Question 2001 Seadoo RX questions

I've got an 01 Seadoo RX 951cc carb'd edition. Just had it out last weekend but on a different lake than normal, plus there was more traffic than usual. So, there was a lot more chop than I was used to... Anyway, even at slow speeds around 30, the ski kept bouncing up out of the water. And I just watched as my friend in a 3 seater GTX just comfortably rode faster than me through all the chop. Is this the nature of the beast? If so, that's fine, I just want to know if there's anything I should or should not be doing.

    • Where should the VTS be set during those conditions?
    • Where should the VTS be set for top speed on smooth water?
    • I know my ski has an aftermarket ride plate, should I ditch this to put the stock one back on (top speed is more important to me)?
Thanks for the help, this is all new to me.

Using the VTS just has to come with learning experience over time, everyone here has different riding attributes,i like mine one bar below center on chop, but i also has a riva bow deflector too for that spray.

I was gonna say one bar under for chop. Especially with an after market ride plate

i cant offer any info on that as i never changed one, mainly because of the re-sealing risk of getting it right.but not to worry,on of these genius minds will help answer that.

Stock ride plate. + 1 on the spray deflector. It's not going to ride as good as a GTX but it's better than most.
