What is wrong with this driveline picture
So I am pulling my motor to send it east to be rebuild at Performance Motorsports Racing Engines..... (a screaming rebuild), anyway, i pull the drive line and find rope wrapped around the shaft down by the pump. i start to unwrap it and it is WAY to well wraped around the shaft to have just run it over, it was put there intensionally. Any ideas on why and what should I do to fix it. Mybe send it with the motor..... lol

Take a pic... no one would put it there intentionally...
Once it gets in there it will wind it around almost with surgical precision!!!

Oh yeah dude, that can happen!!! That's horrible for performance. Wonder how long it's been there?

That is the question isn't it.... LOL
I don't know who long but I can tell you it is in really good shape, so my guess would be not to long at all. Something like this wouldn't bind up the motor would it? Thank would have to be a BIG piece of something to do that?

I've seen ropes sucked up before
crab trap line

Yes that looks exactly like a sucked up rope should look. It is definitely not there on purpose.

i once had a guy come to our shop and wanted me to take a look at his gennesis, he was running along about 45mph when he caught a rope which would not have been to bad in itself, but it was atached to an ancor!!!! i kid you not it ripped the ride plate clean off, destroyed the pump and broke the hull where the drive shaft goes through, it was an $1,850 dollor rope all said and done! i also had a guy come in with a seagal in his pump not a pretty site!

the seagull is kinda funny...if I were the unlucky bastard who took up an anchor I think I may kill somoene.
