    MSX140 Performance Advice

    I just got an MSX140 and I have everything to convert it to carbureted. The front piston blew on it. While its all apart. What are some good mods to get some more power out of it?

    1165 domes aren't correct for msx 1200,and how will you fasten the head covers??

    I have carbed cylinders bored a mil over. I have a complete 99 genesis Im using for parts. Im just looking for performance advice. Like timing advance maybe or can I mill the heads without issue to bump up compression? Should I mess with exhaust or intake ports?

    check the msx ex manifold for a port mismatch.think theres a set of matrix pipes around

    Thanks. Do you know anything about the stock compression? how about reeds?

    So you have an MSX 140 crank case and crank shaft, and everything else is from the carburetor Genesis - correct?

    Are you using stock MSX pistons or oversize 1165cc pistons with those 1165cc domes?

    Are you using the MSX exhaust manifold and pipe?

    Rotax cost too much ha ha. I have a complete msx140 motor with a bad piston and a complete 1165 motor. I was thing of going with a mil over 1165 wiesco pistons. But everything is still up in the air at this point. As far as the exhaust I have the msx exhaust. I just assumed it was a better choice but I can use the genesis one if its better and if it fits. Im still at the planning stages here.

    the plan was, MSX bottom end, Genesis cylinders, pistons and domes, MSX exhaust.

    If I'm not gonna get much out of porting, compression, and reeds or maybe some other tricks. Im just gonna keep the FFI until something expensive breaks. I was wondering if anyone has made noticeable increases without spending $2500 on an exhaust system
