Question Is the Waverunner's flywheel magneto capable of charging an AGM battery??

The season is about to begin!

I just ordered an Odyssey AGM battery (PC625) for my 2008 VX Deluxe and am concerned about the flywheel magneto being up to the task of keeping the Odyssey at full charge. Are there any Waverunner owners out there who are using the Odyssey or other AGM batteriess? If so, have you had any issues with maintaining the charge without having to resort to a battery maintainer?

    Thanx in advance.

    -Joe

I'm on year #7 with my odyssey 625. It's been thru 3 ski's now since 04. The first year i left it in my ski all winter with no tender and it fired right up in the spring. The past 6 years i've kept it on a tender for the winter in house. The battery still holds a charge well. But, not for as long due to it's age. If i let ski sit a few weeks. It turns over slower, but still starts. After 30 min of run time. it's good to go again. Best ski battery i've owned. I may retire this one after this season. For sure, i'll buy another Odyssey.

P.S. My buddy just picked up an Odyssey625 at batteries plus on rt73 in mt laurel for $118/tax included. I just looked online, they're on sale now for $98.09. So under $110 with tax..http://www.batteriesplus.com/product...ad-Acid/1.aspx

Here's a list of their stores in NJ.

    Manalapan NJ 100 Route 9 732.410.8704
    Mt. Laurel NJ 1215 Route 73 856.638.0778
North Plainfield NJ 513 Route 22 West 908.279.6497
    Succasunna NJ 276 Route 10 West 973.584.7000
    Union NJ 2200 B Route 22 East 908.686.2005
    Whippany NJ 569 Route 10 East 973.781.9090

OOps, just realized you already ordered one. You'll love it. The odyssey's have post's instead of screws. Careful with the torque when tightening.

I have an AGM from Carquest in the old GP 800. Had it in there for about 4 years and it is still a hoss! To the tune that I have considered pulling the Yuasa that came in the FZR and swapping them out. I do keep it on a Battery Tender Plus, but the old ski has never had any issue charging it.

    Thanx guys!

I picked up a PC625 from BatteryMart for $106.67 (free shipping and no tax). I will have it later this week.

Thanx for the heads-up on watching the tightening torque.
