    Towing my 1997 SLTX 1050

I am new to PWC and just bought two very clean low hours machines. One is a 1997 Polaris SLTX 1050 and the other is a 1996 Tiger Shark Monte Carlo 900. If I tow them behind my yacht...do I have to do anything such as clamping off some water pick up line? I towed a couple of Sea Doo's which belonged to a friend and he clamped off something inside the hoods. As I said, I just got these so I haven't had time to make a study of them yet. I've ordered some manuals for each but haven't received them yet. Thanks...Craig

Hey Craig, WELCOME to the Green Hulk forums!!!!

It's always best to clamp off the feed line to the engine so water doesn't enter the engine. Look for the line that enters the hull from the pump and clamp that baby off, just don't forget to remove the clamp when going for a ride. LOL

To play it safe I put a pvc ball valve inline to prevent any issues! check out this site http://www.users.qwest.net/~pwctowdster/main.html

I call my 2651 a yacht but honestly if you can't hoist the pwc aboard it's a pain towing one and even a 30 footer would feel 600 pounds on her swim platform!
