    WORX intake grate install question??

I am in the process of installing a worx intake grate on my px. When I removed the grate there was no sealant or silicone holding it on. Kinda nice just fell right off. I remeber when my buddy did his 07 rxp there was a ton of silicone holding it on. So my question is are you guys using silicone when you reinstall?? I have a service manual and it says to use sealant. It also says to seal the top off the front bolt where it comes through the hull and replace the cap. Anybody ever heard of this?

I have been testing different grates and have not used any silicone with no isues. Probably not a bad idea but not critical..

I just used some to seal the gaps and screw holes after it was on. No issues so far.

Did you install it right out of the carton?

Have not installed it yet. Might do it today. Looks like it fits pretty well though. Why do you ask??

I'll be wrenching too. Planned on puting in the RRFPR today, on a whim I crawled under it to see how the grate & plate bolts were. I guess that slight vibration I felt when I road to the loading ramp last week was do to eating a big rock. New 15-22R now on order. Sum biatch!

That sucks dude. I think we have all been there. Or at least I have. Did you smooth your grate before you installed it?

You may have to do some "fitting" of the grate to hull/ride plate.
