    Veins in pump shoe

Who has taken them out and what difference do they make?

No difference ... I know of at least 8 people who removed them, no loss of speed or hookup. They do need to be 100% intact or 100% removed though - if they get damaged they can cause cavitation until they are fully removed. I removed mine too, still have great holeshot and top speed.

If you look at them they start to spin the water before the pump. The only thing it might do is load the pump a little harder.I've seen alot of posts and no one has had any problem by taking them out that I know of.

From what I`ve been told by engineers involved in marine vessel design, they are to help vortex of water through pump on take off (load pump and effeciently move maximum water volume). But thats at instant throttle and are good to only a certain rpm then are renderred useless. So effectively they are good for holeshot only.
