Post 2003 gp1300r efi controller settings help

I have a friend that has a Riva stage 1 kit except the spoonsons and trim tabs. We tested the ski out yesterday at the riva recommended settings of 6916 and he is only hitting 64 on the gps. When we tested it last year when it was stock he was hitting 61. Why is he going so slow and what settings do you think he should be running the efi. Any help with this will be appreciated.

more info: spell out exactly what is done to the ski? what are the rpms? do you have an aftermarket tach?
Those Riva directions are crap IMHO... have you read this thread> good reading> http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...uel-controller

The jet ski has an r&d ride plate, r&d intake grate, r&d anti cavitation cone, Rive power filter, riva free flow exhaust, riva efi, riva nozzle 87 mm, rive setback impeller 13/20, D-plate and wave eater clips.. The rpms seemed a little passed 7000. I read the post but it seemed confusing.

why are you using the efi controller? are you experiencing bogging, or crappy transition? some ski`s may be affected when using the FF and FA together, does your have a problem without the controller? you don`t have high compression or a timing key, so those numbers suggested by RIVA in their instruction are high for your application.

read that thread again, and focus on the different numbers for PV engines and non PV engines and what WFO reports on what changes he made for the PV engines...

are you using an aftermarket tach? you can not get accurate readings from the stock tach... this is important when checking max rpms and tuning the ski and prop...
