    Helmets.

Quick question, I have recently bought a helmet its the one in the link -

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ONE-INDUSTRIES...item56447a9c53

Basically the last 2 times I have used it I have washed/cleaned it just like I have been with the wetsuit and all the other gear, which is dunk it in a bath of warm water with fairy liquid, clean it etc, then put it in the shower and wash it off with cold water.

Is it okay to wash helmets like this or will a lot of water damage the inside/outside protection. It gets quite wet at sea from spray and if I go in the water obviously. Its not a proper jet ski one its a motocross one, thats why I am asking as I dont think it is made for the sea.

Also buying a neckbrace like this soon -

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Buying it for safety incase I come off will protect neck, heard its better to have one as if you come off in water the force of the impact will pull the helmet up and could seriously damage/break your neck

    Whats your thoughts on both???

    Cheers

dont know anything about neck braces but if you have a standard motor cross helmet then yes, you will be fine by cleaning it the way you do

Okay cheers, I just dont want it to rot or start getting a loose fit due to all the washing. It has to be washed though, as salt water always gets on it/inside it.

My MX helmet, all the liners come out. I usually wash them with shampoo, hang dry, and put em back in

Okay cool, I think mine should be okay then. I think some of the liners come out but I just wash it all in one, as it all gets salt water on/inside it.
