It looks like the 2011 kit has fittings now, probably why it's more expensive than the 08-10 kits. Jerry, will the 2011 cooling kits work on those with 08-10 FZ/SHO skis and Powercoolers?

No on the new Power Cooler. 2011 models have a different oil cooler. It requires special fittings in order to tap into the plug caps. If you try to jam a standard 1/4" NPT fitting in there you will DAMAGE the oil cooler body.

Great, so how much better is this "new" Shaft than their previous one that they wanted $350 for? Are they saying that design is prone to failure now?

I don't think they ever said the older design is prone to failure. I've never had a problem with mine. They have just improved on their design. The new shaft is a solid piece of billet steel. Also, the bearings are a once piece design. They have done a real good job with their redesign.

Thanks Jerry. I'm running the "old" version but was curious how the design is different. I guess their first version isn't a one piece design? This is probably what R&D meant by that Riva was still "pressing" on the rear gear with the shaft. Do you know if they will sell the 1 piece bearings separately for those that already have their original Riva shaft?

    Thanks
