    steering alignment

So i'm going to assume i'm not the only OCD person here, and i can't stand it if my handlebars aren't perfectly straight. This usually poses a problem on skis cause basically all of them are crooked. So now onto my dilemma.

I had stock steering on my 08 gpr (aside from an r&d extended steering nozzle), and the steering was pretty close to dead nuts on. Now i've installed my umi steering and bars and when idling the bars will be a little bias to the left, but at cruising speed they're bias right. So yeah wtf is up with that?

a little bit of slack in the whole system, cable included. and the torque or rotation of the prop/pump causes a little bit of it...
and: if your ski is not set up squarely, it could be tracking cockeyed...

plus , wind, current all play a part in it...

all`s you can do is measure right and left, then center and ride...

yeah i had a feeling that was the response i got. I made sure there wasn't any current or wind too... so basically you all just live with this?

While my ski is sitting on the trailer it my bars point right, it drives me crazy. Runs straight as an arrow though.

i have the exact same issue with my umi setup, it tracks slightly off and i have tried just about everything i can to fix it but no joy.....

it can be fixed but it takes time and patience , i seem to lack both.

well a cheater way is to offset the bars, but then you will have less steering ability on one side VS the other...
It varies how much my bars can be off to the right, depending on cross currents and winds...
