Why are PWC intercoolers so expensive?

Any reason we can't use one of these? They are considerably less expensive.

What are the differences between these and the $900 versions I see on the PWC performance sites? Does it come down to fitment size or are there more requirements for a PWC intercooler that these do not meet?

I believe its because Riva and R&D's intercooler are plug n play while the frozen boost you have to fabricate other parts to make it fit/work.
I think there are threads on frozen boost set-ups.

Many members have had good luck with frozen boost I/Cs I'm getting ready to install a type 14 in mine as well. The Riva and R&D products are good, but if you dont mind a little fabricating, its a good way to save some money and still have good results.

Are you going to do an install thread on that? I'm interested in seeing what it takes.

I'll try. My schedule is a little goofy right now, but when I get a chance, I'll do some pics along the way.

I did Frozenboost type 19 and type 20 setup back before the Riva I/C came out and I got one of those, I never did go back after that. Maybe I will try one sometime soon.
