What kind of oil should I use on my 2000 SLX 1200?

It has carbs,no power valves.. just stock all the way around.. I think the motor is new. the pistons are not dirty and the everything else is new looking including the tank being empty.

So that makes me wonder If I need to break this motor in too?" I guess so....lol If thats the case, then I don't want to run synthetic yet. 135 PSI across the board.

    Any suggestions?

It will be running Pre-mix and the oil pump at first.. I'll dump some 2-stroke in the tank just to be sure at first that the oil pump is working. Once I see the level go down, I'll run the rest of the gas straight after.

Honestly, run whatever oil you want. Synthetic or not, it really doesn't matter. 2 strokes are not picky about break in. I would put some 40:1 in the tank, to be sure the oil pump is working.

Cool.. I'll go with the Dominator oil then. Fairly easy to get around here. Should have it in the water next weekend. Looking forward to it.

Are you sure Dominator is what you want? Thats a racing oil and probably more expensive than what you need. interceptor or HP injector should be fine for a stock ski

Yeah, dominator is overkill for a stock 1200, but it will technically work. I'd be running $15/gal oil in that ski if it were mine.
