    Melted Battery Posts? Seriously?

I've never seen anything like this before. I was just removing my grab handle on my GP1200R and found my battery posts melted. When I installed the battery three weeks ago it was fine. Ran it all last year with no issues. The ski starts instantly so I don't see there being any type of connection issue.

I'm about to go through it and see if I can find any poor connections but both terminals are smoked. Sucks to throw away a great battery.

That was my initial thought but I'm pretty particular about over tightening. Especially the soft threads on these terminals. They seem more melted than anything.

Looks like I will be getting a gel cell though, enough of this old battery technology.

I'm an idiot, I had to have way over tightened these now that I've inspected better or my cables pulled them. I'm guessing the first.

Just really surpised as I've been ridding street bikes and skis, working on them constantly and I've never done this.

Guess I was a little anxious this spring! lol
