    One Inch to GO!!!

    Aight', I have replaced the thru hull seal and have a slightly used shaft in okay shape from John Zigler, but for the life of me can't get the pump assembly to go the last inch into the NON-RUBBER BONDED/Straight coupler for the bolt up.... I have done this a half dozen times in the past for various reasons and have never had this trouble. There is a slight difference in the drive shafts. The old shaft had coupler splines that were similar to what goes in the impeller, where as the new shaft has coupler splines that are straight and solid all the way to the end of where the splines were cut. The new shaft also has a larger surface area for the thru hull bushing to ride. I am using my feet to push this last inch, and it will not go in the coupler. I thought maybe it was grease locked, so I pulled the fitting to squeeze out any and dug out excess with my fingers, but nothing works. What gives? Any help will be most appreciated.

    Never mind. It never fails: I post on here, and my problem is solved. It finally went in, and all is in beautiful harmony.

    I have had that problem as well in the past.....its a real pain in the ass
