    XLT1200 bogging down

Have a friend keeping her 2 skis here but they need some work.

First one bogs down when taking off and wont reach top end. It has reached it for a spell after sitting for a while(maybe 200 yds) then drops back down.

The second one has starter issues. When it got here the starter would not disengage till the ski started. It will not work at all now. The "start" comes on on the instrument panel when pushing the start button but it does nothing. Has a new battery but got to the point of only starting with a jump but now nothing. I'm guessing a junk starter but I dont want to waste money on unnecessary parts and repairs.

    Thanks in advance

The first one sounds like you need to have the carbs gone through and change the filter or give it a good cleaning with carb cleaner.

The second one sounds like you need to check the starter relay and the start button since it would not disengage. and check the starter with a hot battery or new one.

NO JUMP STARTING if your battery is bad replace it. a good hot battery will spin these things over for a wile before depleting it.

Both skis have new bats and new plugs. Ran some carb cleaner thru both last weekend. Checked the starter switch(no getting into the switch itself) Thinking maybe need to check plug gap, she had someone else put those in. Where is the starter relay located...hopefully easier than the starter itself. Thanks guys...Think good ole Reid my be down in a bit too.

Relay is in the electical box. Follow the positive wire from battery and the red wire from the starter
