Question Can racing sponsons damage hull and cause leaking?

Been taking on water and will be pulling the ski out today for an overhaul.
I'm wondering if sharp turns with racing sponsons could, or, has damaged the hull.
I can't see any other reason for the taking on of water overnight. Have new carbon ring, bellows, plg, pump seal, etc...(all the regular stuff)

Has anyone heard of this being an issue on '96 XP?
    (Sponson brand is Beach House)

    * NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE LARGE WASHER ON INSIDE OF THE HULL and make sure the washers are flat against hull, they will pull out through the hull if the large washers are not used and flat. Tighten snugly and check them occasionally for tightness.

did you happen to put big fender washers on the inside of the hull when you installed the sponsons?

The leak was from a loose nut/washer assembly. No hull damage, however I'm going to upgrade to 4 bolts rather than the stock 3.

Did you lock tight the bolts?

Yes. All done now with multi washer and 4 bolt upgrade with lock nuts.

Add some clear silicone to it. It almost hold it on by it self.

In fact, I did two circles (inner and outer) around the bolts on the back side of the sponson before attaching them to the hull. Then filled in behind the head of the bolt before pulling it in.
    Thanks for the tip.
