    Gotta pull the SC...

I made a little ride yesterday and topped out one of the two '06 RXTs at 61.1 (GPS) at 7440 RPM... that ain't good, now is it?

I pulled the hose on the charger end and could only manage a slight turn of what felt like about 3/4 of an inch. I'll try and get the charger pulled in the next day or two: I sure hope I see a couple of washer still in tact. I talked to Jerry, were both hoping I just need a shim. My last full rebuild was approx. 75 hours ago, so that may be the next round of maintenance... fingers are crossed.

Sounds like slip to me, id imagine you should still have your washers.

IMO id rebuild it if your going to pull it - 75hours is getting up there.

Bill, just silicone the hole where the sc fits into the engine...you don't use the sc anyway. Although 75 hours are on the current rebuild, only 5 hours were really pushing it...when I borrorwed the ski.

You know, J., that lack of top end had your smell all over it... I'll have Jerry send you the bill. LOL. Really, I don't doubt the looonnng ride from early this year may have played a part.

For the rest of you that chimed in - I'll be taking it all under advisement and will know as soon as I get it pulled; hopefully tomorrow night.

Hey bud, thanks for asking. Sorry I missed your calls - been crazy at work and after...

The good news: The SC is in tact - sounds, looks, and feels good in the hands. Jerry opined the same via a pic. text. On Jerry's instructions, I put a wrench to the impeller end while holding the shaft gear, yet I couldn't get it to slip. He advised I pull the pump and inspect the wear ring. The ring hasn't been changed since '07, about 175 hrs. ago. So. I guess I'm pump pulling on Saturday. If it all looks good, I guess I'll try "swapping ends" and seeing if that helps.

As you can see by my 1st post, I'm down on both - RPMs and speed, yet the hole shot is not bad (no cav'n) and the engine runs smooth - just no top end. Any other ideas...?

I baby'ed that ski worse than you do! ... Cant afford to break other people's ski. I doubt your long ride caused it either, as you would/should have experienced the problem then.

Ps - i think jerry requires pre-payment for sc work.

Well since none of us are in town looks like you have to man up and get your hands dirty. Good luck with this. I hope it is nothing. It is time for something to wear since you have that many hours on your almost stock ski.
