How to: home made catch can.
I have had a few pm's regarding my home made catch can, so I figured I would show you how and what you need. I bought everything from home depot. I dont have the chrome breather for the top, pictured in the parts. I got mine from Pep boys auto parts for 8 dollars. you should be able to put this together under 25 bucks. Just pvc glue the caps all in place, use thread sealer on all the barbs and petcock valve, and the breather clamps on top. I took a 2 inch L bracket, drilled into the side of the catch can, and riveted the bracket to the body. I then removed the exhaust manifold bolt and bolted it right to the engine. I painted mine black or you can leave it white, or whatever floats your boat. Hope this helps....

how does it work with no guts in it? an oil seperator has some type of media for the oil droplets to condense to.

The vapors go out the top thru the breather and liquids (a gas oil mixture) settle in the bottom. You then unscrew the valve and drain it out. usually an ounce every ten hours or so.

the jaz catch can has no baffles or separators in it.... but i can see where some baffled separators would be good for the oil in the vapor to hit an object and condense while the air escapes.

Funny I made one last year and nobody liked it. Yours does have a petcock. Very nice set up and less than the Jaz.

Not to be a stick in the mud but I wouldn`t use a rivet and I wouldn`t bolt to motor. Harmonics are hell.

Hoss, I put 35 hours of hard riding without an issue. Then again I dont jump 80 feet in the air, or try backflips like you...
