Welding to fit EGT to stock GP1200R Manifold

Who can do welding on the GP1200R exhaust manifold to mount the advent EGT? Has anyone ever put a spacer plate between the cylinder and the exhaust to install the EGT's. What about hooking up a Digatron EGT setup on a GP1200R?

Putting egt probes on a 1200 has been done a long time ago by a couple of guys with success, but I do not remember who they were. I tried it, it did not work out for me. The trick is to drill through and tap both sides of the jacket without it leaking.

Putting a spacer in would change the length of the exhaust pipe changeing how it works. ( R&D actually shortened the pipe a tad before to get more RPM's, but that is not what you are asking about).

I did one but never got a chance to install it. I pressed in a brass bushing between the water jacket. If you want the manifold its yours you pay shipping ill snap some pics later..

I'll be waiting on the pictures. Has anyone tried to just drill and tap the manifold for the egt sensor. Not a lot of room, but if done carefully should work.

All the results I ever saw from EGT's installed on a stock manifold, were unusable. This was due to cross talk from the other cylinders giving false readings. Everyone I saw try this could never get close to a balanced reading on the three cylinders.

Did you send yours away, or do you still have it? If you did send it to another member, what bung did you use? I have an EGT in the mail, but don't know what bung size was used to weld in for the probe..
