Thread: Security Key

Any one in here an Electrical Engineer? Was wondering if a resistor or bypass circiut could be developed to bypass the process of key replacement.
Or do you think it will be in the ECU programming?
All the info and secret swapping has mentioned nothing of this. Ive even asked the some big guys and they kinda go quiet and reply with. "Havn't given it much thought".
Im sure this option is inbedded in the ECU but how can the weeekend rider do a simple mod to eliminate this cork.
My luck it will be one of the improvements in the 08 R model.
Someone know if this was one of the secret changes. I heard alot of dealers complaining about it. Maybe Kawi heard them and is fixing this issue.

Imagine a Lemans start race, where you are standing at the back of the ski, and the flag drops and you rush to put in your lanyard...and nothing happens until you open your glove box and play hide the salami with the key.

Mark; My post was a joke....having the key function that way is one of the stupidest things the brains at Kawi ever came up with.

Sounds like it's real. I think a bar mounted momentary switch is in order, or maybe a timer-relay delay that initiates the switch then the starter circuit.
