Raider Hull Truing
First I just want to say how great this forum is, I have learned alot from here and hope I can share some of the things that I have tried or learned. Thanks to all that makes this place great!!
I wanted to show some of the pictures of my Raider Hull truing. I used a 23 by 4 inch flat block of wood with 50 grit sand paper attached to do the sanding.
The first shows the Raider turned over on the trailer ready to start the process. The hull top, engine and fuel tank have been removed.
The next picture shows the start of the sanding after a light painting of the hull to make it eaiser to see what needs to be fixed.
The third picture shows the hull after all the sanding that I can stand (about six hours) it's almost perfectly flat now and ready for paint.
The fourth picture shows the hull after a coat of epoxy paint. After the paint dried I sanded it again with 100 grit sandpaper to make very small straight scratches from front to back.
I hope this is not like looking at someones family vacations pictures, but is actually helpful to show what can be done.

Wow!! I'd love to see a picture of that and hear what that does for improving the handling.
It's great to think of new ideas for the old raiders.

It slices through the water insted of slapping the water ,where that flat part is before the intake gullet.Mostly for speed, but handling is improved also,

If you can provide any information on that mod I will go ahead and flip my raider back over and do it. The engine will be out of the ski for several more weeks so it's a good time to do this.
I'm glad I posted here, this is great that others can help me continue to improve what I do to my raider.
