03 Sea Doo GTI LE engine shimming
I'm in the middle of replacing the motor in a friends 2003 GTI LE and I'm almost ready to install the new motor but I have a question about shimming it correctly.
I know that I can't just put the same shims back in the same spot as it could be different. However, I never removed the pump housing when pulling the motor so that should still be good to go.
Is there a way I can verify and accurately determine if the motor is shimmed properly w/o the alignment tool? I don't prefer to buy it considering this is, and probably will be, the only Sea Doo I work on.
So what are you guys doing to ensure it's properly installed w/o the alignment tool?
Thanks for any advice in advance.
