    2.5" or 3.0" exhaust

Some of you may know that i am building a custom exhaust tip. I just got my riva replacement aluminum exhaust pipe. I realized the riva pipe diameter is 2.75". I made my tip out of 2.5" stainless steel.

My question is, Should i go ahead and use my already made 2.5" tip or should i redo it and make it a larger diameter? Would i lose any/significant performance with 2.5".

If i were to redo it i probably would step up to 3.0". Keep in mind that to redo would cost more and stainless is not the cheapest material to work with before you all say dump the 2.5" for 3.0".

2.5 is fine.... everything before the waterbox is even less than 2.5" diameter... the exhaust manifold is pretty narrow, and the inner pipe in the j-pipe is the smallest point.

going from 2.75 and having a 2.75 to 2.5 silicone reducer at the thru-hull point isn't gonna hurt anything

    don't forget to take pictures!
