    open loop

Running Riva open loop on a 2008 RXT-X and I've heard to remove the plastic impeller on the pto cover. I didn't hear the reason why to remove?
    Thanks

I didnt remove mine. The Riva instructions do not say to remove it from what I remember as well.

You used to have to do this back in the day when open loop first came out for the 4-tecs..there was a round part on the housing that you would fill with grease for the water pump shaft....NOW, with the new covers, you dont have to take the impeller off..
