    Turbo guys???

What size turbo's are you guys running? How much lag do you have on the bigger turbos? We built a turbo rxt here at the shop, it has a precision 48mm. It comes on almost instant, though I know it wont make more then 19 pounds or so.

I have a pair of billet wheel 57's on T3 housings, thought about using one of these, just not sure if it will be too laggy.

I run a Forced Performance HTA Dual BB turbo(GT3076RCHRA), with a billet wheel(AR.70), and .082 SS Tial V-band hot housing.

The Billet wheels definately spool faster, the main thing u should look for is Ball bearings. This helps spool times, and makes longevity much longer than journal bearing CHRAs . At the RPMS we are running, a journal bearing turbo won't last very long, before needing a rebuild.

    my turbo here:

    Spools very fast!

i will second that i have ridden both jasons above..and black vr..he is running the precision 5830.. both spool almost instant..i went with a gtx 3076r..isnt done just yet..still awaiting my turbo...on backorder...

the size of he exhuast housing ..has alot to do with spool time...maybe you just need a bigger exhaust housing..jason and myself are both going with .84..

I agree with both of you guys, on the exhaust housings and billet wheels. Just not sure on what size is too go with. Here we build 1000+hp turbo cars, for the street and race track. So Im pretty versed on turbo's just not on jetski, these are our toys.

    I would recommend a .63 I think .82 is a bit too big for a 1500cc motor. Ive used .63 on a 35r and made almost 600hp on a 2000cc mitsubishi motor

    I was thinking about going with a PTE's PT5857 with a T3 .63 A/R with 3" V-Band discharge.

That would work really well. I run a PTE 5830 with a Tial .63 housing.

That's the way to go. The PTE 5857 is a little laggy down low. The 5830 is great all around.

the thing you have to think about is we arnt running 6000 rpm like most street cars..at 8600 to 9200 rpm ..we need to move alot more air..a 1.5 liter spinning 9200 rpm is moving about the same amountof air..as a 2.3 liter at 6000 rpm...

i happen to have both housings in my shop...my turbo is supposed to be here tomarrow..i almost have my shop back under controle so i will be able to work on it soon .we will see..i just know jason tried both and went with the 8?? ..he got his les cook turbo mapped 9200 ecu yesterday..adn came and stole my injectors.. so it will even be more important..to let it breath..

my original thought was .63 like everyone else..but jason tried the and went .83..barri rxp doo was running the 8?? as well

realistically until you can try both ..you really cant give an objective ..opinion..by tuner said to go 103....if he can loan me one i might...at least try it..

i am not really sure how my gtx3076r or jasons forced performance unit compare to the precision units..just because i never really studied the numbers it may be apples to oranges...

i understand the 58 + the diamiter of the induce wheel..
these are t3 as i can see..
pte 5830 =58 mm inducer..then it says 56.5 X 84 below so wtf is the 30 part..?? and 580 hp

    the 5857 says 58 mm inducer wheel..then 57x76 below...then 605 hp

    my gtx3076r is a gt30 ..intake side.. 58 76.6 with a 60mm exhaust wheel 360 to 640 hp..

blackvr also says the precision 5830 is a good turbo for our application...and the 5857 is a little laggy i rode his 5857 yes it had a slight hesitation but not notacbly different than jasons..

i drive a mazda speed 3 as a daily driver..i can tell you the thing spools almost instantly but get it a 5500 and it falls on its face...
