You must set the TPS with CANDooPro or take it to the Dealer and have it done.

pretty sure the ECU will have to be married with the gauge via BUDS then you can have any key programmed for it.

ok due to my engine not being in the ski is it still possible to have it programmed

Woops I missed the year! He is correct the cluster must be married to the ECU and the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) must be reset. I wouldn't try to reset without the engine and all the sensors connected, because the fault list will be great and I'm sure there is something not plugged in that would be needed.

Resetting of TPS and Marrying of the Cluster will not stop you from getting on the water for testing once you get the new engine in.

Then you can shoot down to the dealer to have it done.

I've had 3 ECU's in my ski and has always started up with no codes. 1 OEM, 2 LC. This is only the small experiance i've had, others may have further advice.

I think on your model it's going to show the powerd up hours from the cluster. They do some strange things with the hours on these and I have not gotten a firm grip on the pattern.

It will probably run without setting the tps, but if it's off on the lean side you could burn up the engine! If the cluster is not married and the security code is not the same as the old ECU it will not startup and run. I have run across a couple that had the same code.
