a person has offerred to rent my 2007 rxp for $1,000 to put 15 hours on it, shoulo i?
Hello all. My 2007 rxp runs great, still hits 70 in the flats, is all stock with 118 hours but with upgraded supercharger washers, new wear ring, 100 hour service. Anyway I posted it for sale because I was going to look into stand ups, and I have a standing offer for $5,800 with my 2008 load rite trailer. And I am really not looking forward to selling it.And I don't need the money for anything in particular, so its no emergency to raise money. So this is the backdrop to the offer to rent.
So a guy wants to rent the rxp and put 15 hours on it for $1k. He says he will respect the ski, and after talking to him, I believe him. I can charge credit cards so we are going to put a hold on his card for $2,500 each time he takes it out so if he does any major damage it will be covered.
Here's the real rub though:
The dude is 6'3 210 pounds. And he will be riding with his girlfriend, who is 5'9 190. So they are a 400 pound load on the ski.
The idea is for the ski to earn a little towards its own way.
What does everyone think I should do? I am not desperate for the money, but of course $1k for whatever is good.
I really hope to get everyones thoughts!!! Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have good insurance. If they get hurt on the ski they can come after you. Plus what a $1000 If the ski blow up on them. Instead of $5,800 for the ski now it wroth $1500-$2000. If it all work out it sound like a OK deal. But I wouldnt let someone ride my ski unless I was there to watch. Most likely the bottom is going to get cheses grader up or ding up at the dock. I hope every thing work out for you if you go threw with it.

I would let him rent it for $1000. With a $5,800 deposit.

I doubt the weight of driver and GF is of any concern or will lead to excessive wear. Rent it and make $1000 sounds good toi me. Just make sure you CYA.

NFW would I ever rent my ski, not even to my mother! These people can do more damage in an hour than you could do in a life time. If you rent it do as the others have posted and CYA!

I would rent it for 5800. No FN way I would ever rent my shit out. If they wreck it or hurt someone your ass is on the line. BIG TIME!

No way, you may want to make sure that your insurance will cover your rental agreement. You can bet if this guy hits someone he will tell everyone "its ok, I rent".

unless your Rockefeller and don`t give a crap about your machine. Ski rental places carry enough insurance for people like that.
1K is not worth the worry or any "Issues" that may arise over it... if your ski IS insured, call your agent and see what they say?
IF something bad happens , they and the other party will own your life... just saying...
BTW is there new bearings in that SC when the service was done?

Rent your wife out too while you are at it. That's kinda how much sense it makes...
