it is ok to run on a garden hose right? not revving it up but idling to warm up the oil before changing or to flush after salt water use?

start the ski then turn the water on. Turn the water off then turn the ski off. Does not matter how many strokes it is

That is a LOOONG time on the hose. During that time your carbon seal got no lubrication or cooling. Keep that in mind for the future or if you develop a mysterious water leak in the hull.

2 weeks ago I almost filled the empty Seadoo gallon jug that I put my used oil in. It was about 1/4 qt short of 4 QT's.
