    shipping prices

    Gang

Is there a prefered (cheap) shipping company to ship a ski across the county with a trailer or will they ship without a trailer? I would like to buy something off ebay or craigslist or even an out of state dealer if shipping is not to costly. Anybody shipped a ski say 1000 miles have any experience with this?

    Thanks

I have never used him...but I read of a lot of people using Unishippers and being very happy. Never read anyone complain about damage or anything.

If you want me to do it then it would need to be in a crate. No trailers. However you can check out uship.com or Haul bikes .com. They will take it without a crate. Shipping on a trailer is really expensive. Best guess 1000 miles in a carte figure 400 to 800. From FloridA TO CA could be close to 1k.Up the east coast figure 600.
Ask questions before you commit to anything.
I will answer questions you don't have to ship it with me.

Hey John...I am on an ATV forum as well. People inquire about shipping those as well. Do they need to be crated? Or can the carriers you use drive them onto the truck?

I use regular scheduled Truck lines think Yellow, Fedex freight etc. You DO NOT want those yahoos on the dock driving your atv around. Not a good idea. You want them to handle it as little as possible. So yes on a pallet with protection around it think crate. There are some that will take it without the protection but then you take the chance that it will get damaged. If it gets damaged I guarentee nobaody will be happy. Think haul bikes .com for just driving it on. Check their prices out and be aware of added things that they charge for. Such as length.
