FX SHO fuel flow about 1/2, top speed ~45, poor hole shot

The last time I ran the ski last year, everything was normal. Top speed ~65, 20GPH WOT.

Now it only burns 10GPH WOT. Top speed is around 45, RPMs max about 6500, hole shots don't really happen. The last third of the throttle pull doesn't have any effect.

It starts easily and runs fairly smooth.

I've idled it on the trailer and pulled the wires from each cylindar plug coil. Each cylindar being shut down made the engine run rough so I'm certain each cylindar is functioning.

I pulled the fuel line and hit the starter to engage the pump. Fuel is being supplied very well.

I took the exhaust apart to check for obstructions. It was clear from the water lock all the way back.

I ran some fuel-injector cleaner and Sea Foam through it.

I adjusted the throttle cable so it just hits the top of the throttle assembly when the throttle lever is pulled all the way back.

Pulled the plugs and they all look good - about the best I've seen.

Put it in learning mode and it barely made it to plane at 5000 rpms.

So much for the easy stuff. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Tom F

could try checking your air intake and see if the air filter is cleaned but i dont think it will slow u down that much

Looked at that too. It didn't look too bad. 300 hours on the ski. I removed a hose just in front of the supercharger to make sure it had air and didn't make a difference.

Any way to test the supercharger and the airflow it is providing?

Assuming its not in learning mode, check the SC clutch by pulling the silicone hose that feeds into the SC. The SC wheel should only spin in ONE direction smoothly with only very very little play in the other direction. If it spins both ways, your clutch is shot.

    'Spins both ways...

I also took the exit hose off and ran it for a few seconds. No air coming from the SC.

    Thanks,

That sucks, but if you have 300 hours on your original clutch, you are WAAAY ahead of the game. There are guys on here that are experiencing spent clutches with under 10 hours!
