    Bought a 97 Hurricane

Thought it was a 96 until I looked at it, it has a bad starter and "electrical problems" when I took a look at it I think it was more of "owner problems" he opened the electrical box and left it open to rust to crap. The guy said the engine was just replaced in it.

I was able to get 110 psi compression using a strap wrapped around the PTO, so I decided to take a chance and got it for a song.

So my question is this, I am already planning to upgrade the CDI and stator, the connection board, and a starter. but I am also wondering if I should replace the regulator and the starter solenoid as well? everything in the electrical box looks rusted up.

Might as well...even with used parts you'd be better off than questionable electronics.

You can use some bleach spray to clean off the mold inside the hull. Just don't breathe in the mist, and wear really old clothes.

Here is what I have ordered/bought so far.
    Updated CDI kit
    Starter Solenoid
    Connector board
    Starter

Also replacing all the gray tempo fuel lines.

I ordered the kit from partspitstop.com, how long does it usually take to get the orders out?

    Carb rebuilt kits?

You might also need a new fuel float, as the old ones often get heavy over time and show low fuel even when the tank is full.
