96 GTX with melted piston
Stumbled across a couple of 96 GTX skis for sale. The skis are in beautiful condition and have always been kept in a garage, but, both skis have melted rear cylinder pistons. The owner says his mechanic told him it was caused by running Ring Free, but after doing some reading, not sure how this stuff could cause melted pistons unless they went way overboard on the mix.
I find it kind of strange that both skis have exactly the same failure at exactly the same time. It does seem to indicate a common occurance between the 2 skis which according to the owner would be the Ring Free. Anyone else run into melted rear pistons on the 787 engines?
