    Help with performance

    Hi everybody,
    I got a 07-250 with 160 hours.
Last week was siting out there around the Island and when tried to return, the ski wouldn't run more than 5/6 miles an hour. No problem, it only took me 6 hours to get back. I had experience this with supercharge belt gone.
But this time supercharge turns bet is intact. I dont know where to start looking.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It dont seem to be related to the pump. It feels like when I through the supercharge belt.

Does the engine rev up fine out of water?
How is the s/c belt tension? Are you using the factory gauge?
How does the engine oil color look?

Thanks for your response. The engine does the same thing in and out of the water. I think the ski is in the limp mode. I found a lot of fishing line rapped around the impaler shaft which I took it out. The engine oil looked real bad. Belt and everything else looks fine. The engine would only rev fine around 2/3k rpm. After that if tried to rev it will just chock the engine.
I am going to put fresh oil and filter in. If the ski is in a limp mode would it go back to normal by correcting the problem or you need to get it out of the mode?

After fresh oil and filter nada. But when I cleaned the spark plugs it was able to pick up some rpm. I am going to put a new set of plugs and see.
BTW when problem occurred I was using cheap oil with three trips without oil change. The oil I took out looked pretty bad.

3k rpm is where the limp mode goes, but I guess you have no error?
Do a compression test since your oil look pretty messy.
