    2003 MSX 140 - no spark, no display response when cranking

    I have no spark or fuel. The dash does not come on while the engine is cranking. I have tried unplugging the tps but there is no change.

    Welcome to the Hulk

    Is this machine new to you? Has it ever worked properly for you?

    My current guess is that the EMM needs repair. You can do some other tests first, but I suspect the EMM will end up being sent off the DFI Technologies for repair.

    Other tests;
    - Make sure battery voltage is over 10.6 volts when cranking. If not, replace battery.

    - Ohm check CPS sensor on top of flywheel housing. Should be around 140 ohms.

    - Unplug 12-pin connector at EMM and ohm check stator coils.

    - Make sure the lanyard is in place.

    2003 Polaris MSX 140 No Spark Or Fuel.

    Hello,

    I have a 2003 Polaris MSX 140 and it is getting no spark or fuel. When the engine is cranking the dash does not come on either. I have tried disconnecting the TPS and that makes no difference. I have also checked the ohms on the CPS and it is right at 140. I have put a test light on the injector wires and they are getting power when the engine is cranking. I am not sure what to check next.

    Thank You,

    This machine belongs to my father in law and he bought it when it was new. It has a brand new battery in it but i havnt checked the battery voltage when its cranking. The CPS sensor checked at 140 Ohms. The Lanyard is in place. How do you check the stator coils on the 12 pin connector?

    Test light is not useful. Use a multimeter.

    With Black meter probe on engine ground the White/Red wires should have over 20 volts when cranking (all injectors plugged in), and over 40 volts when running (typically 45 volts).
