    Another happy Ultra 300x owner!

First time poster long time looker.
I picked up the Ultra 300x last week and have already put 6 hours on it. Man I love this ski. It carves the water like a knife, insane hole shot, and awesome hook up in the rough.
I just sold my 08 Yamaha VX deluxe. The yami was a nice ski, I had over 260 trouble free hours. Really can't compare it to the ultra. It's like comparing a Taurus to a GT500.
I was having a hard time deciding between the 300x and a SHO. In the end I'm really happy with my decision. The only thing I don't like is the maintenance schedule. I did all the maintenance on the Yami but kinda scared with this ski if there is a warranty issue?

Same here man. The ski is awesome but I hope the longevity is there. I want to do all the maintenance myself because I don't trust the dealers..you get your ski back and its full of scratches and chips. I cant deal with that. I've heard they'll find ways not to cover something. Typical of all warranties I guess.

    Nice pick on the color!
I heard green one is about 5 mph faster than red one at WOT .

Scared of doing own maintenance or scared of possible warranty issue?

Because green is stealthier with green front! LOL
Me too... but I do think it is better without the chrome front IMO

I do really like the green.

I'm scared of doing my own maintenance and then getting denied if I had a warranty claim. I guess I can just bring it in to the dealer. In the owner's book looks like 10 20 25 and then every 25hrs. What does Kawi usally charge for service?
I never bought the extended warranty on my VX so it didn't really matter.

    Thanks!
What problems have you had? What should I look out for?
I'm on the water so I plan to put a lot of hours on this ski.

Warranty would not be denied just because you did the work by yoursefl unless you made gross errors like cross threaded plugs, etc. But warranty CAN BE denied if required maintenance was not performed and the failure is related to that.

Kawi dealers charge by their hourly rate ($90/hr in my area) plus parts cost.

It's a good idea to get the extenede warranty on hi performance machine like 300X which is way more complicated than the VX. And insist on genuine Kawi warranty not like 3rd party companines like Western, WACHOVIA, etc.
