97 sea doo gsi wont run past 3000rpms

The ski runs good on the trailer revs to 6000 no problem but when i get it into the water it does not go past 3200 something rpms.

I cleaned the carbs and and filters.
The inlet and outlet fuel lines were changed.
    Carbs adjusted to spec.
    Changed spark plugs.
    Fuel selector cleaned out.

Cant figure out whats wrong any help would be great

What do the spark plugs look like? Make sure spark plug wire are not pulling away from the spark plug cap. If they have play in them the ski will idle and run but might cut or blubber out on top end.

I also think it could be a spark/electrical problem.
The spark plugs are little wet and dark colored.
The wires are all the way into the boots also.

If one of the spark plugs are black or fouled looking. It might be the Rectifier Module in the Grey box's is bad. If the motor blubbering or ruining very rich.

If you unplugged the 3-Pin Rectifier (mounted on the MPEM under the Front Storage Bin) and there was no difference in ops. then the R/R isn't the problem although your symptoms are exactly as if it was.

Looks to possibly be either a Carb. issue (Pop-off pressure incorrect) or a Coil issue. Was the Black Electrical Box in the rear of the ski bone dry inside ?

I assume you already removed the Spark Plug Boots and cut back 1/4" Spark Plug Cable and *re-screwed* the fresh ended Spark Plug Cable on the Boots, then tie-wrapped them in place.

The box in the rear that holds the coil didn't have a gasket and wasn't securely closed when i bought the ski.
I had to take the plug wires of the coil and clean inside bc it was corroded.
And yes i have cut the wires from he boot.
