Need help choosing next 3 seat Sea Doo

I love my old GTX and don't plan on getting rid of it. It's great for wavejumping and I love how it's so light and responds so well to my inputs, so this would be in addition to keeping my ski most likely (I have a floating dock and a lift so this would work fine)

However, I've been taking longer and longer rides, as well as going out in choppier water. I also test drove a new GTX-iS in Atlantic City at the Sea Doo test rides a few weeks ago. Reasons I want to get a newer s/c ski are:
    • I understand longer rides aren't the best for 2 strokes with respect to heat buildup
    • Better gas mileage/range
    • Better for bigger waves since it weighs more (s3 hull vs older hull?)
    • Better for carrying people (sits higher/has more mass)
    • To quote Ricky Bobby, "I wanna go fast"
Now my question is what do you guys recommend as far as used vs. new? I have a good amount saved up and could pay for either one with cash if need be. Other questions are:
    • S3 hull worth getting over a slightly used ski?
    • Interrelated but plusses/minuses of 255 vs 260 ski?
    • RXT vs RXTX (Main two I'm looking at I would assume)
    • Storage size vs my current 97 GTX?
I would love cruise control but it's only on the RXTX right? I'd also like trim.

    Thanks in advance!

s3 hull is nice although my 1st seadoo so I cant compare to previous hulls. Cruise is an option on most seadoo's and most seadoo's come with VTS.

Why not a GTi? or the basic RXT? Basic RXT is 260hp, comes with a ladder, cruise, and VTS.

All depends on your budget too

I just got a 2011 RXT-X and I love It. The s3 hull stays locked in the water. And the ski handles 2 riders well
But not a lot of storage. And Its fast!!

This is why I asked for input My budget is flexible and not an issue.

GTi isn't really worth it in my opinion. From the 130 hp one I rode, I don't think I'd be gaining enough stability, speed etc, to bother spending the extra thousands of dollars on a new ski.

I was looking at the RXT and realized it does have cruise, even though it's not listed in the included options list at the bottom of the 2nd page of the spec sheet. The main differences I see between are that the RXTX has the adjustable handlebars, different seat, and different floor mat.

Yes I noticed the new hull stays locked in well from riding Scott's ski and my test ride.

That's what I'm leaning towards. Did I miss anything that the X has that the RXT doesn't?

    Yellow = fast

X has something called an X package which you'll never use. Activates add'l options on the dash
    X has different traction mats
X does not have a ladder
X does not has cruise control
X has the adjustable bars as you mentioned earlier

Im sure there's other things too.

I'm not in that much of a hurry, I haven't heard back yet if it's worth it for the S3 hull over just getting a few year old RXT. No impulse buys for me.
