Thoughts on this SL 750 for $500

I don't need the trailer but I offered him the idea of $500 for this SL 750.

I have the necessary paperwork in order for the ski to register it, but I wondering if this a good deal. I'm going to check it out in person with my compression gauge and see if the MFD still works before I committ to this. Then I'll probably check the hoses and other known fuji burn down problems out.

I'm torn between doing a similar registation-less 780 build, but will require me to get all the electronics and build the motor, or just purchasing this one and registering it after a tune up. Problem is I'm really gambling on this ski turning into a project.

thought I would ask the HULK crew for your expert opinion

Hell, the trailer is worth $300 alone....

Get it for $500 and do the $200 fuel updates.

AS LONG AS THE TITLE CAN BE HAD!!!!!!

Buy a ride plate for it so it stops the porpoising its known for and maybe a r and d grate. I bought my sl750 for 500 also. it ran good. Do a compression check, if its 120 psi across the board, your good to go. Good Luck!

I picked it up this morning and the exterior has some scratches and missing a corner piece in the rear of the rub rail. I'll get pictures up as soon as I get back to the shop, I had too much going on and was a little hungover to snap a picture. It ran good and the engine bay was so clean you could eat off it.

Busy fourth of July for me, all the parties happened yesterday and Saturday so I took the opportunity to prep and address this new ski for action next weekend. I checked the compression for 120, 124, 125psi and everything look pretty good, engine bay is real clean. Outside of some major scratches the hull is in good shape, I peeled off some of the decals that are shot or cracking off and trying to fix other areas the previous owner have tried and failed. Here are some pics, the ski had a broken grab rail so I took the spare blue one off my other 92 hull and painted.
