    Supercharger Shaft Modification

I read in some of the posts that some of the big charger guys are modifing the supercharger shafts so the collar does not spin and block the oil holes. Are people just tacking the collar with a tig torch or are they doing something else?

Some are drilling another hole and using a pinch pin to keep the collar/shaft from spinning...

Thanks Snow. I was starting think about the collar spinning on my ex extreme, 16 ft pounds feels like allot of torque.

It has worked well for a few that I have done but there is no way to know the next point of failure till it happens. Was able to run the race ET at 21lbs with no issue. Also I would only consider doing a new shaft.

Whats the purpose of the collar, and why not just a larger shaft made with a higher grade of steel?

Yeah....what Duke said! And while you're at it, make it part of a rebuild kit too!
